Eastwood and East Kilbride Canoe Club is based at the James Hamilton Heritage Park  in East Kilbride (summer) and at  Blantyre Sports Centre (winter).  The club was formed 1996.  Members mainly come from the Eastwood and East Kilbride areas although some come from further afield.

The Club is affiliated to the Scottish Canoe Association.

We have about 60 members at the moment but new members are welcome, especially if you are an experienced paddler with your own boat!  We have a wide range of experience in the club ranging from those just starting to paddle to very experienced paddlers and coaches.

We paddle a paddle all year round.  We are a multidisciplinary club with members paddling white water (both canoe and kayak) and there is a growing sea kayaking group.

We are a friendly bunch and anybody interested in our sport will always be welcome, if you are interested then please get in touch.  The minimum age to participate in a loch session is 8 years of age.

The hard core paddlers enjoy a varied year round diet of river trips to places such as the Clyde, Tay, Tummel and Nith.  The less experienced paddlers are not forgotten with flat water trips also being undertaken.

Future developments in the pipeline are the expansion of sea kayaking in the club and continuing coach development.

We are a child protection aware club and adhere to the Scottish Canoe Association child protection arrangements.  You can read our Child Protection policy.
